GDI Risk Management EA

What it does

This is a protection overlay, not a signal EA. It watches whatever is already open on the account, either by magic number or by every position on the symbol, and applies a trading-hours filter plus a daily and a session loss limit (in cash or as a percentage). The daily loss is measured from the day's peak equity, not from the day's opening balance, so profit made earlier in the day is protected too. If the daily limit is hit, it closes the open positions; with the shutdown option on, it then removes the other EAs from their charts, sparing the ones named in an ignore list. It only makes sense running alongside my actual signal EAs, not on its own.

A GDI Key is needed to run it (the download itself is free).

Installation

1. Download the EA below (free, only the licence key is gated, not the download).
2. Copy the .ex5 file into MQL5/Experts in your MetaTrader 5 data folder.
3. In MetaTrader 5, open Tools > Options > Expert Advisors and tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL", then add https://sync.golddailyinsights.com to the list.
4. Drag the EA onto a XAUUSD chart. On the Common tab, tick "Allow Algo Trading" (skipping this causes error 4014, not the URL error 4060).
5. Paste your GDI Key into the EA's licence input and confirm settings.
